a 19 foot long crocodile that has killed over 80 people in Uganda has been captured alive. Conservationists hope it will mate with female crocodiles in captivity.
Maybe this is not the specimen they should be reproducing. Just a thought.
I thought this might have been Gustave, the killer croc from the awesome PBS documentary CAPTURING THE KILLER CROC. Gustave lives south of Uganda and is by some estimates 40 feet long and weighs 1 - 2 tons. He is most likely the largest crocodile in the world.
He has eaten somewhere between 200 - 300 people (and a small hippo).
My favorite part of the documentary was the scientists, insisting that Gustave be captured alive for study. I really thought that was just a cliche in monster movies.
They caught a smaller croc. Gustave is still on the loose.
Perhaps they need the King Of Crocodiles to bring him in... with soccer.
Or maybe he could be tempted with a lovely fruit basket ?
