Fem-bots at last

The geniuses at Kokoro Dreams have created the Actroid,
"A female-type reception robot... bearing a striking resemblance to a woman with a good command of four languages".

The Actroid can speak and understand conversations in English, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese.

The actroid comes in Renee Zellweger 'Down with Love' style:

And sexy leather clad Catherine Zeta Jones style:

But be warned: "She will be dissappointed and sulky if she is mocked".

And then she'll tell her brother:

I'm sure with their smart and sexy fem-bots, Kokoro Dreams will be very successful, and then they can create what they call "Fun-Fun Robot World" filled with friendly robots like this:

When Elvichauns attack

I was checking out Bang Bang Bunny's website to get info about their October 1st CD Release Party at the Viper room, and I found this amazing clip.

The Elvichaun (Half Leprachaun, Half Elvis - All Rock) runs through a parade and collides with an old woman.

Click on the Elvichaun to see it happen.

Out of the comics and into the streets!

Mental Pictures by Jeff Carter

I see comics and random weird characters just waiting to happen all over the place, so I was really stoked to find these two cool examples of culture jamming:

The folks at Thundercut modify street crossing signs - Link

and designer Ji Lee posted 5000 empty word balloon stickers on posters around New York and then photographed the results (some entries Rated R) - Link (if it's down check back later)

Pocky Day Review - Reverse Strawberry

FLAVOR: Reverse Strawberry Pocky
NOTES: Another tasty addition to the Reverse Pocky family! This Pocky is so rare I could not even find a picture of it online, so I had to take my own.
RATING: 7 out of 10

While looking for pictures of this online, I came across MORE NEW flavors of pocky! There seem to be 2 new kinds of Decorer (White Chocolate and Strawberry) and 2 new kinds of Mousse (Custard Fondu and Chocolat Chaud).

Chupacabra shot?

Texas Man kills El Chupacabra?

I'd say Chupacabra attack is a fine argument for the right to bear arms.

Robot infested M&M's coming soon!

Scientists at Darthmouth have built the world's smallest mobile robot.

At 60 x 250 micrometers, "About 200 of these could march in a line across
the top of a plain M&M."

That's right - soon all of our delicious M&M chocolate candies will be SWARMING WITH TINY ROBOTS !

The tiny robots wait in Abe Lincoln's beard for an M&M

In an unexpected move, M&M is retaliating by creating GIANT M&M's.

They also offer custom M&Ms, as you can see...oh no! It's too late!

Robot Frank

Robots - big, boxy, belligerent robots.

RobotFrank.com has all that and more. Robotic combat, ninjas, even a tribute to Grimace!

Ro-basket definitely approves.

Robot Insurance

I don't watch SNL because it is bad. The only thing I miss are there amazing commercial parodies, like this brilliant one for OLD GLORY ROBOT INSURANCE.

(video courtesy of Robotcombat.com, home of the fighting robot Nightmare. Vlad The Impaler is still my fave, sorry!)

Inspired. Ro-Basket approves.

Robot vs. Ninja...Photos!

I've had a Flickr account for a while now, but haven't really explored it's potential for things other than free hosting for pictures.

The Flickr Blog is always posting about really neat things, so I've added it to my 'Blogs I Dig' list on the side there.

They also have a 'Flickr Tag Fight' feature that runs off Tags.

Tags are descriptive comments people add to their pictures. With the Tag Fight, you can enter two tags into search fields and see which one dominates.

Of course I had to try this with ROBOT vs NINJA.

AND THE WINNER IS...
