Bronson Caves, as it is also known, are caves dug out of a quarry in the Hollywood hills. These caves were used as sets for several tv shows and movies, the most famous being the old Batman show.
If you are in the L.A. area and would like to visit, here's a good site with directions. The caves are about 10 minutes up the trail.
The view of the Hollywood sign is also one of the best I have ever seen.
